Ontario’s Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport has just announced that nominations are now open for the 2015 Premier’s Awards for Excellence in the Arts. The deadline for nominations is December 1, 2014.
These awards were created in order to recognize the outstanding contributions and achievements of artists and arts organizations in Ontario. Their contributions breathe life into communities, help drive innovation and strengthen Ontario’s cultural sector, which currently generates more than $22 billion annually for the economy. The awards are open to any artists or arts organizations engaged in any kind of professional arts practice in Ontario whose artistic work service spans over 10 years.
There are two categories of prizes: Artist Awards and the Arts Organization Award. Check out the details on each here.
Any Ontario resident who enjoys and takes an interest in Ontario’s arts and cultural industries may nominate an artist or arts organization for the awards. You may submit a nomination in one category only, for either the Artist Award or the Arts Organization Award, not both, per year.
How? Simply submit a nomination form, a testimonial letter, a description of your nominee and a selection of media clippings about them by the December 1, 2014 deadline.
