For artists, maintaining a team to support their vision and sound is a crucial piece of the puzzle, so what does it take to find the right people for the job? Hear from industry executives Bee Ramesh and Matthew Maw on what the process really looks like to sign on with management or label representation, and how to find the best fit and working relationship that benefits both parties.

Bee Ramesh (aka Eboshi) is a Toronto-based creative strategist, director, writer, and multidisciplinary artist shaping the future of music and media. As Marketing Manager and A&R at Birthday Cake Records, she leads innovative campaigns that amplify artists and releases with creative precision. A member of the experimental hip-hop duo Cartel Madras, they began performing in 2018 and quickly caught the attention of Ishmael Butler (Shabazz Palaces, Digable Planets), signing with Sub Pop Records shortly after. Bee has toured internationally and landed syncs with Netflix, Hulu, and EA Sports. Cartel Madras is set to release their new album, blending genre-defying sounds with their signature raw energy.

As co-founder of FOREIGNERZ Media, Bee produces dynamic film, TV, and commercial content, while also curating arts and fashion events. FOREIGNERZ is currently developing a scripted comedy series. A Keychange alum, she is committed to fostering diversity and excellence in the music industry. Known for her sharp creative vision, Bee is a universe architect, crafting bold marketing and branding strategies that transcend borders and push artists forward with a fearless, global perspective.

Matt Maw

Founder & Artist Manager – SUPERCONNECTED

Matt Maw (Chippewas of the Thames First Nation) is the founder of SUPERCONNECTED, a Toronto-based music company spanning artist management, label services, and music and culture consulting. He brings well over a decade of multi-faceted music industry experience, a deep commitment to artist development, and a track record of building sustainable careers.

Throughout his career, Matt has worked with some of Canada's most celebrated artists, overseeing an award-winning, genre-spanning roster including Sebastian Gaskin, SUUNCAAT, Boogey The Beat, Wolf Saga, and Miesha & the Spanks.

In 2025, Matt was named to Billboard Canada's inaugural "40 Under 40", recognizing his leadership in defining the future of Indigenous representation in Canada's music industry. In the same year, under his guidance, Sebastian Gaskin celebrated his first JUNO Award nomination and win for Contemporary Indigenous Artist or Group of the Year and was named as an inaugural Artist-In-Residence at Massey Hall. In 2026, Matt received the Trailblazer Award from Music Managers Forum Canada, presented at the 18th MMF Canada Honour Roll Awards in partnership with Billboard Canada's Managers to Watch. The award recognizes a manager carving new paths in the industry, honouring Matt's work advancing the recognition of Indigenous music in Canada alongside the launch of SUPERCONNECTED.

Matt currently sits on the board of Music Managers Forum Canada and the BreakOut West Indigenous Advisory Committee, and has worked alongside organizations including CARAS, SOCAN Foundation, the Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund, Universal Music Canada, Warner Music Group Canada, Arts & Crafts Productions, and Six Shooter Records, among others.
