In his final year at Humber College, Nebyu is already active on the scene, playing as a side man throughout the city and spearheading his own project, the Nebyu Yohannes Sextet. Throughout the course of Nebyu's career, he's had the privilege of playing alongside notable artists such as Joe Lovano, John Scolfield, Donny McCaslin, Larry Goldings, Martha Reeves, Michael McDonald, Mike Stern, Jason Marsalis, and Take 6, to name a few. Nebyu has also won many awards and scholarships including the Al Kay Brass Award, the Jerry Johnson Award of Excellence, the Gordon & Anne Wragg Music Scholarship and the Fraser MacPherson Scholarship. jordanaJordana Talsky: Vocalist-songwriter Jordana Talsky has a distinctive voice whose strength and richness is big enough to sing anything from blues to opera. Nominated for 2015 best vocal jazz artist by the Toronto Independent Music Awards, she continues to celebrate the release of her critically-praised debut recording, “Standard Deviation”, a mix of pop and jazz standards that continues to receive airplay in Canada, the U.S., Europe and Australia, and is currently working on her sophomore release expected in fall 2016. jay danley picJay Danley Ethiojazz Project: Respected as an accomplished Afro-Cuban music master and leader of his own critically-praised “Jay Danley Ethiojazz Project”, sizzling guitarist JAY DANLEY has performed on two albums with piano giant Hilario Duran, been featured on Julian Fauth’s Juno-winning blues tours de force, “Ramblin’ Son”, and performed frequently with Order of Canada honored saxophone great, Jane Bunnett.
