Initial Workshop Announcement
As we continue to work away to get MusicOntario fully off the ground, we wanted to give you a sample of the types of events that we’ll be bringing to the masses. With this in mind, MusicOntario is pleased to announce its inaugural professional development workshops to be held in Toronto on April 24th, May 1st, and May 8th, 2013. Our first three topics cover what we think are some of the most pressing areas of the industry today.
Getting your music into Film, TV, Games, and other media is a huge part of creating a sustainable career. That’s why our very first event, Sync’d Up, will explore the world of music placements. On April 24th, come learn the basics from industry pros on how it works, what it takes, how you get paid, and more.
Next up, on May 1st we’ll be bringing you Sound & Vision, where we’ll be exploring the role of video in the careers of artists in 2013. Our killer panel of filmmakers & videographers will be rounded out by those involved on the business side, giving you a 360 glimpse into how to best leverage these two mediums into getting to the next level.
Finally, rounding out our initial series on May 8th will be Reaching New Audiences, providing info and insight into marketing basics in 2013. We’ll hear from our panel of experts in all areas of marketing – from traditional to social to lifestyle – on how to get your music into more ears.
We’ve also got something special to announce: MusicOntario will be offering these first three events for the best price around. That’s right, these first events will be free.
We believe that in doing so, attendees will experience the value and impact these events can have on their careers. We can’t do this forever, though (as we need to cover our costs), so future events will be ticketed, and members will receive discounts on registration. (Speaking of: membership info will be made available soon. Stay tuned.).
But the best part about the events are the speakers we have lined up. To learn more, click the links below… we thinkyou’ll be dazzled.
So there you have it: our first few events are just weeks away. C’mon out and see what we’ve got to offer.
