Showcase Ready! A professional development workshop for artists!
MusicOntario, in partnership with Canadian Independent Music Association and Musicians' Rights Organization Canada, is teaming up with Work In Culture and Artscape Youngplace to curate a couple of Lunch & Learn sessions, a professional development series geared toward musicians looking to take their careers to the next level.
Professional development is crucial at all stages of an act's career, but the next steps are not always obvious without some background knowledge of how the music industry works on various levels. The first workshop in our series is "Showcase Ready!" What's the first thing that every young band wants to do? Showcase their music, of course! It's not that simple, however, and in this session we will discuss what kinds of things decisionmakers are looking for when booking bands or programming festivals. How do you approach bookers and talent buyers and when? What are they looking for, and are you even ready to showcase? Register now and join us for tips on how to navigate this complex and crucial area of the industry.
Session facilitators include:
Juno Award Winner - Divine Brown
Rockstar Agent - Stefanie Purificati, The Agency Group
Radio Marketer & Tracker - Dale Peters, Dale Speaking Ltd.
Audio Blood Inc. General Manager, Zach Gordensky, Audio Blood Inc., formerly Canadian Music Week
