Festivals & Conferences: Perfecting the art of networking, showcasing and selling yourself

Festivals and conferences can be crucial gateways to be seen and heard by not only managers, labels, agents, buyers and tastemakers domestically, but also in new markets and territories. They can also be extremely costly, noisy and daunting – how can you make an impact with hundreds of other gigs, parties, types of media and people vying for similar recognition?

Whether it’s a panel like this, a networking reception up the street, events like Indie Week here in Canada, or a behemoth like SXSW with our neighbours down south, there are simple ways you can make connections, meet key people, and prepare so that you don’t break the bank or waste your time.
