About root'd Festival
root’d Music & Arts Festival provides a glimpse into the diversity of sounds that are a part of the cultural mosaic of Brampton and the Peel region. The youth of the region grow up with an array of sounds surrounding them, from the cultural music of home, to the Western sounds of hip hop, R&B, house, electronic music, and pop. root’d fest aim is to capture this tapestry of sounds in a single day presentation in Brampton, providing a gathering spot for regional artists to share their music, collaborate together and build their audience. The Summit on our second day features a series of panels and workshops that focus on the merging of music, visual arts and technology. A valuable destination for local creatives to learn and connect.
The root’d programming is especially focused on elevating BIOPOC talents aged 20-35, who are redefining Brampton and Peel’s music landscape and contributing to the visual expression of the region, telling stories of experiences as cultural or visible minorities in Brampton and in Canadian society through contemporary art and music.
