Eastern European Mission – Networking Showcase

The Canadian Independent Music Association (CIMA) is hosting an incoming mission of Eastern European music industry delegates and buyers in order to give Canadian music professionals an opportunity to learn about and explore the potential to do business in those markets. Activities for the mission with take place in Toronto and Ottawa (in partnership with MEGAPHONO conference and festival). The primary focus countries are Poland, Estonia, the Czech Republic and Hungary, with secondary focus on Slovakia, Latvia, Western Russia, Bulgaria, Croatia and Belarus.
MusicOntario is co-presenting a showcase and networking reception on February 5th for local artists and their representatives to perform for and network with the Eastern European delegates. Apply below for consideration! Please note, selected artists must have a representative present to take meetings as part of the mission’s activities.
Tidbits on the Eastern European market from IFPI:
- Streaming revenues are growing in Eastern Europe! In 2017, Hungary jumped by 33.2%, the Czech Republic by 48.5%, and Poland by 44.2%.
- Germany is the largest market in Europe making Eastern Europe a natural tour stop for Canadians on the road looking to maximize their time across the pond.
