Leah Holtom's "Patchwork"- MusicOntario Member Spotlight
Leah Holtom is a 24 year old singer / songwriter hailing from Brampton, Ontario. With her tender yet powerfully soaring vocals, Leah has a remarkable gift for moving people with her music. She blends the best of folk and country music, leading her audiences on an enjoyable journey with memorable, traditional styles, while still delivering fresh musical perspectives. Leah’s songs offer intimate storytelling and captivating melodies and are accompanied by the classic instrumentation of pedal steel, fiddle, and acoustic guitar. Artists such as John Prine, Alison Krauss, and Gregory Alan Isokov have influenced her to explore topics of family, human connection and the everyday experiences of people. Her endearing voice and fulsome sound is showcased on her recent debut EP : 'Patchwork' released on July 12, 2024.
About Leah Holtom
Leah had the opportunity to further explore her artistry through her studies in the Bachelor of Music Program at Humber College in Toronto, Ontario. In 2022, shortly before she graduated, Leah began to shine her light in the Toronto music scene performing at legendary venues like: The Horseshoe Tavern, The El Mocambo, The Cameron House, and The Great Hall.
Leah has been overwhelmed by the success of her independently released debut single: ‘Face The Day,’ which has reached over 8000 streams across 90 countries. Along with releasing her debut singles, Leah released her debut EP on July 12, 2024. The EP is a collection of 5 songs that showcase Leah’s strong writing and captivating vocals, and will give listeners a full experience of her artistry. Leah has a live video project series funded by FACTOR Canada which she looks forward to sharing alongside her EP in 2024. She is thrilled to finally be sharing her music with the world and connect even deeper with people through her art.
